Al-Flex is one of the few companies nationwide to be licensed by National Wood Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) to provide preventative treatments for wood-packaging materials for wood destroying organisms.

The United States has implemented a new international regulation (ISPM-15). THis regulation required treatment of all wood packaging materials,

Al-Flex is licensed by the NWPCA and TImbor products inspection for methyl bromide treatments. The IPPC Stamp we provide is accepted world-wide where the ISPM-15 regulation is required.

All wooden crates/ pallets are treated with methyl bromide and stamped on each side with the IPPC stamp. We also issue a fumigation certificate if needed.

The United States is now implementing a new treaty to eradicate these insects, which invaded the US from China to the US and began wiping out forests. If left unchecked, the USDA estimates the ALB and other wood destroying organisms could cause as much as $138 billion in damage to the U.S. economy.

Al-Flex works closely with the USDA and has a pilot exchange program whereby we perform treatments at our customers’ sites or at our facilities. Treatments, which typically last 36 hours, are divided into 24-hour treatment periods plus 12 hours of irrigation. They must be marked with the NWPCA’s approval stamp.
